Long time no write!

About a month ago, I had my charity stream, and I haven’t updated y’all on anything since! That’s on me. I spent one weekend on holiday, then the next two Going Through some health stuff, and now it’s literally a month since my last update. Who knew time could work like that. Anyway, I’m here now. Hello. :)

First up!

If you didn’t see it last week, I released a new game! Passion of the Jukebox is a love letter to overdramatic and over the top musical drama-comedies, and the musical episodes of every other drama-comedy. It’s based on Brandon Leon-Gambetta’s Pasion de las Pasiones, a system dedicated to Latin American telenovelas. PdlP is an absolutely stunning game, and I was stoked to adapt it.

I did feel a little guilty for de-sexying PdlP a little while adapting it, but given how many of the works I was inspired by star teen characters, I thought I’d better make it a bit less steamy. Sex and sexuality can be a really fun thing to explore in ttrpgs, but you really have to pick your moments and audiences with it. Passion of the Jukebox didn’t feel like the place or time.

Tomorrow I’ll be fulfilling another one of my charity stream promises and playing a spooky game GM’d by the incredible Christine Prevas (@cprevas on twitter) of The Unexplored Places podcast. We’ll be playing Ghost Station, an incursion for Trophy Dark.

Okay, that’s me for today. Mostly housekeeping today, but sometime soon I’ll be writing up some of my learns from the game of “Quest” I’ve been running for a ten year old on Fridays. That’s been a really fun experience, if a challenging one, I just want to be a little more surefooted about it before I start being preachy.
